Welcome to Georges Wood - an area of woodland in the heart of Suffolk, England in memory of George Fagg who died on Good Friday 2003, aged 27.

This blog is to record and share with George's family and friends the planting of the wood, which began in Spring 2011, and its ongoing development.........

Good Friday 2018

Welcome again to Georges Wood blog. I have no pictures today as spring is late - a few buds beginning to show life, but look back to last year's Easter Blog to remind yourself of the glorious life that is always unfolding.

I have a poem for you though:

A Butterfly Lights Beside Us
A butterfly lights beside us, like a sunbeam...
and for a brief moment its glory
and beauty belong to our world...
but then it flies on again, and although
we wish it could have stayed,
we are so thankful to have seen it at all.

A few days ago I was blessed by this butterfly settling in my heart - not as a memory but as 'pure love and joy' - I recognised it as George. I don't expect everyone to understand this - it is beyond the comprehension of the mind - and like the Easter message it is beyond life and death.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you George
